Attached please find the Lockbox Application for anyone who might be interested in setting this up through the Sheriff’s Office. Lockbox Program Application

What is the lockbox program:  The program provides law enforcement a way to gain entry into the residence of a participant to expedite access during a life-threatening emergency.  It will also allow residents, in cases when forcible entry would other be necessary, to avoid property damage.

How it Works:  A key to your residence is stored in a lockbox and then securely placed outside of your home.  In the event of an emergency, the key code and location of the lockbox is dispatched electronically to the responding deputy, who could then access your residence at a time of need.

Who is Eligible:  Any resident who resides in DuPage County, is elderly, disabled, has medical or special needs who wish to be placed in the program.

Is there a fee for the program:  The estimated cost for the lockbox is approximately $40.00.  Lockboxes can be purchased at many big box stores or at local hardware stores.  If you are indigent a lockbox may be provided to you (based on the availability of private donations).
