The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office and DuPage County have made it easier for residents to see where crime is happening within DuPage County. An interactive mapping system allows users to check the areas around their homes for crimes that have been reported. The interactive mapping system is available at https://dupagesheriff-transparency-dupage.hub.arcgis.com/

Also in the past the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office has released a smartphone application that will not only allow the office to reach out to citizens during an emergency but will also allow anyone with a smartphone to report anonymous crime tips directly to the office. With just a few clicks, app users can also research registered sex offenders in the area, view current DuPage County Jail inmates and connect to our various social media platforms. Job opportunities, throughout the office, are also posted on the app. “I have promised that my office would be open and available to every citizen of DuPage County. And what better way to do that than by being available on a device nearly everyone has on their person at all times?” Sheriff James Mendrick said. “I’m particularly excited about the features that allow the public to submit crime and drug tips directly to us and the link to research any nearby sex-offenders.” The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office smartphone app was developed by TheSheriffApp.com, a division of OCV, LLC. TheSheriffApp.com specializes in smartphone app development for sheriffs’ offices and public safety organizations across the country.
