Jeff Gahris is SCARCE’s Energy Advisor. He will speak about many ways in which efficiencies in the use of energy in the home can save money, and increase comfort in a home.
SCARCE (School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education) is a “Green” organization whose goal is educating the public on many topics related to the preservation of natural resources and saving money doing it. In homes this can be done by effective use of the new smart meters, energy efficient home products, and home modifications (e.g. modern windows, insulation, fixtures, etc.). They also help with supplying the names of reputable businesses to evaluate a home’s needs, and also to do any related work that is chosen. SCARCE is mainly supported by grant money provided by ad hoc non-profit organizations that specialize in various ecological areas.
